Registered Psychologist
Available at Penrith
Amanda is a Registered Psychologist known for her warm, authentic, and deeply empathetic approach to therapy. She works from a person-centred framework, creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and respected. Having spent her career working locally, Amanda is passionate about supporting her community and values the strong connections that come from working alongside the people in it.
Amanda draws on a range of evidence-based modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and play-based therapy. She tailors her approach to suit each individual, recognising that no two people experience the world in the same way. She understands that everyone’s story, identity, and way of processing experiences is unique. Amanda aims to create an environment that feels safe, affirming, and collaborative, where you can explore your experiences in a way that feels right for you. At a pace that feels comfortable, she supports you to make sense of your past, recognise patterns that may have once been helpful, and build new skills and perspectives that better align with who you are and where you want to go.
Amanda has undertaken additional training in EMDR, eating disorders, psychological assessment, Tuning Into Kids parenting courses, and neurodivergence, and is excited to
continue developing her work in these areas. She works with individuals across the lifespan, adapting her style to meet each person’s needs and stage of life. In her assessment work, Amanda endeavours to provide a respectful, thoughtful, and engaging experience—one that can even feel enjoyable. She focuses on understanding and highlighting each person’s unique strengths alongside the challenges they may face, with the goal of ensuring supports are meaningfully aligned with their needs. It is important to Amanda that individuals feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout the assessment process.
Outside of her professional life, Amanda enjoys spending time with friends and family, relaxing at the beach, caring for her houseplants, and immersing herself in whatever hobby has currently captured her interest.
