Mr Jenkins was an Australian fellowship-trained specialist podiatric surgeon, dedicated to providing excellence in the field of reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.
Having graduated with a Master of Podiatric Medicine from Western Sydney University in 2012, his academic achievements were recognised with the Vasyli Medical Award, underscoring his dedication to academic excellence. Over the course of 10 years of post-graduate studies, Mr Jenkins honed his expertise in foot and ankle medicine and surgery. This included the completion of an additional master's degree in podiatric medicine at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, where his research investigated the surgical management of painful big toe arthritis, underlining his commitment to advancing the field of foot surgery. Mr Jenkins continued his commitment to foot and ankle research, further investigating the influencing factors of bunion surgery via the University of Newcastle.
Mr Jenkins’s pursuit of excellence in foot and ankle medicine led him to complete his surgical Fellowship training through the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons, a rigorous six-year program that exposed him to diverse medical and surgical courses and rotations both within Australia and internationally. Notably, Jeffery undertook two international surgical rotations at the highly renowned Emory Hospital, Atlanta, USA, and Southmead Hospital, Bristol, UK, further enriching his skill set and knowledge base.
A keen advocate for education and mentorship, Mr Jenkins’s passion for teaching was evident in his role as a lecturer in podiatric medicine at various universities in NSW. This commitment to education also led Jeffery to complete a Bachelor of Education (Physical and Health Education). Jeffery actively engaged in providing clinical mentorship to podiatric medicine students and professionals across diverse medical and health disciplines.
Although no longer practising clinically, Jeffery continues in his leadership role as a director of Alliance Medical Group, overseeing the company’s strategic direction, operations, and performance. Jeffery also leads the clinical excellence for OnePointHealth, driving initiatives for professional development, education, clinical cadetships, and new graduate programs. Furthermore, his non-clinical contributions extended to serving as a board director for Wentworth Healthcare, where he also sat on the Clinical Governance Committee and the Allied Health Clinical Council.
Mr Jenkins also dedicated himself to progressing the podiatric medicine profession through his involvement in various committees, including the Australian Podiatry Association regional council and the National Advocacy Advisory Committee. Mr Jenkins held several professional memberships, including with the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons, the Academy of Minimally Invasive Foot & Ankle Surgery, the Australian Podiatry Association, Sports and Exercise Podiatry Australia (SEPA), and Sports Medicine Australia (SMA).
